As an animator, theres alot that should of be done with the faces, especially with Scar whos face made the character different from the others, there should be growling, squinting, hair standing up, theres nothing, they are just moving their feet but doesnt give me the sense they are alive that was the whole reason for live-action. It’s pretty sad that a cartoon made characters feel more alive and real than a realistic CGI approach. I’m sure there are scenes of those in the film, they just didn’t show them off in this trailer. He was going for more realism in how animals would look in those states of emotion. He did the same thing for Jungle Book as well. Part of me wishes he says the dark shadowy place in Croydon. Now while this does look epic, I would like to make the following observations. The music still gives me chills and fills me with an overwhelming sense of pride. I’m hoping Rafiki still believes the past doesn’t matter. I’ve only managed twice so far but agreed it’s definitely my favorite show, just stunning. It would have been cool if they incorporated some of the stuff from the Broadway show into this movie. Now, while the music in Lion King is amazing, I somehow prefer the Disney The Lion King Young Simba and Nala Shirt music in the Broadway show instead. It has that more traditional African native vibe about it. I have always been obsessed with The Lion King. Was always my favorite Disney film as a kid. I was so obsessed with it I wrote out the whole script. So I will notice alot of differents being 90 of the script is still in my head! I used to write my own movie scripts for Lion King 3 and so on as well as draw and create my own characters! I feel this so hard!
